June 2020 Rongoā Māori and Mirimiri has become recognized as a form of rehabilitation, and support has been given through ACC accreditation. Why is this a big deal?

Well, in 1907 the Tohunga suppression Act was put in place by the New Zealand government to replace Traditional Māori healers with Western Medicine.

In 1962 as a result of being reviewed, the Tohunga suppression Act was repealed.

Practitioners have always provided Rongoā and healing regardless and were often sitting at the back of the hall or marae, we were always placed at the back... Until now!
